Tréidhe Nua Ó
An Gael
Gan Ghaeilge gan Ghaelach. Gan Ghaelach gan
Éireannach. Gan Éireannach gan Éire.
Without the Irish language,
there isn't anything Gaelic. Without anything
Gaelic, there isn't anything Irish. Without
anything Irish, there isn't any Ireland.

A New Triad From An Gael Europe is
intended to operate without borders. The Punt is
gone. Irish law and institutions are subject to
European law. Tara is about to be tarred and
strip-malled. All the other markers
of national identity have been swept away in a single generation.
There's only one definite piece of national identity left, and
its intended places of refuge, the Gaeltachtaí, are inundated and
shrinking. But why should it have ever been their
responsibility to stand alone for Gaeilge, for the
Gaeil, for Ireland? Two hundred years ago the Cornish knew they were a
separate nation. A thousand years ago the Cumbrians knew they were a separate nation. Not
anymore. Why? Because today they speak
somebody else's language,
so naturally they think they're somebody else.
Submerged nations. Forgotten nations.
Non-existent nations. Is that
Ireland's future? There's only one thing that
stands to block that fate. Gan Ghaeilge Gan Éire.
Without the Irish language, there will be no Ireland.
Speaking Irish is not the responsibility of some.
It is the responsibility, pride, and pleasure of all Gaeil, both home and away. - An Gael
