FÁILTE / WELCOME

Fuair sibh sinn, an nuachtlitir idirlín Chumann Carad Na Gaeilge.  Thosaigh ár ngníomhaíochtaí i 1872 agus ár n-iris i 1881.  Tugadh "An Gaodhal" ar ár n-iris go 1904 nuair a scoir ár bhfoilsitheoireacht, agus tá ár n-iris ar ais anois mar "An Gael,", agus ina teannta, "An Gael - Breise!" ag tarraingt airde arís ar neart agus fhás na Gaeilge ar fud an domhain.

Cé hé agus cé hí An Gael?  Tusa - patrún, tacaí, soláthraí, agus cruthaitheoir na n-ealaíon Gaelacha, le cultúr, stair, agus teanga ina measc.  Beidh an iris seo fútsa agus leatsa.  Agus beidh sí ar shon iad siúd a choimeád ár gcultúr Gaelach beo ó ghlúin go glúin.

ár n-iris ar ais, go ráithiúil, agus is iris lán-Ghaeilge í anois. Tá An Gael - Breise! againn, freisin, mar nuachtlitir dhátheangach, as Gaeilge agus as Béarla, chun cabhrú leis an bhfoghlaimeoir.  Más mian leat alt dhátheangach a thabhairt dúinn, déan ANSEO !  é, baileoimid bhur saothair is fearr chun leagan áirithe ar leith de "An Gael" a fhoilsiú.  Ní féidir le gach alt iontach dul isteach sa leagan sin - níl ionad go leor againn.  Ach, le do thoil, foilsigh d'alt anois ar na leathanaigh seo ionas gur féidir le Gaeil ar fud an domhain do thaighde agus do smaointe agus d'ealaíon a léamh, a chloisteáil, nó a fheiceáil.  Má tá imní ort nach bhfuil do ghramadach nó do litriú foirfe, ná bíodh imní ort.  Iarraimid ar Ghaeilgeoirí ar fud an domhain ár nGaeilge ar an suíomh seo a cheartú.  Má fheiceann tú botún i n-aon alt, inis dúinn le do thoil.

You've found us, the internet newsletter of The Philo-Celtic Society.  Our activities began in 1872 and our magazine in 1881.  We used to be called An Gaodhal ('The Gaelic Person') until 1904 when our publication ceased, and we're back now as "An Gael", and along with the magazine, "An Gael - Breise!," again calling attention to the strength and growth of the Irish language around the world.

Who is The Gael?  You are - the patron, supporter, provider, and creator of Gaelic arts, including culture, history, and language.  This magazine will be by and about you.  And it will be for those who have kept Gaelic culture alive from generation to generation.

Our magazine is back, quarterly, and it is now an Irish language only magazine. We also have An Gael - Breise!, as a dual-language internet newsletter, in Irish and in English, to help Irish language learners.  If you want to contribute a dual language article, please do so HERE !  Each year, we'll collect your best works to publish a special, separate edition of "An Gael."  Every great article won't be able to go into that issue - we don't have enough room.  But, please, publish your article now on these pages so that the Gaeil throughout the world can read, hear, or see your research, your thoughts, or your art.  If you're worried that your grammar or spelling isn't perfect, don't worry.  We ask Irish speakers around the world to correct our Irish on this website.  If you see a mistake, please tell us.

Bain sult as an suíomh seo! / Enjoy this site!
